Multiple Choice Theory
For every question you will receive 4 options and you need to select the correct option. There may be more than 1 answer to some questions and it is possible to flag some questions to come back to later. There are 100 questions to answer and you have an hour and a half to answer them in.
The four sections for the test are:
- road procedure
- traffic signs and signals, car control, pedestrians, basic mechanical knowledge
- driving test, disabilities, law
- publications, instructional techniques
To pass you will need to score an overall 85% but there is also a need to score a minimum of 80% in every section.
Our ADI Driving Instructor Course
At Steve’s School of Motoring, we have vast experience training new driving and the course has been put together by expert instructor trainers and our dedicated support team. The course has been put together by experienced instructor trainers and our dedicated support team. The full training package uses many different methods which include home learning, individual training elements and in-car practical training. This rounded approach to learning will help you to get the most from the course. It is possible to sit the course at a pace that suits you, meaning you can balance this course with any other commitments you have. We find the course will generally take between 6 and 9 months but if you are looking to speed up the process, we can assist. It is possible to study the first two parts at the same time to accelerate learning.
With Steve’s School of Motoring, you can be out on the road earning money with a PDI (Provisional Driving Instructor) license after the second examination whilst you train for the final exam.

We support you
Our support staff team and your dedicated instructor trainer are on hand to provide you with support throughout the course. You will also be able to utilise one of our training vehicles to enable you to prepare for the driving and teaching elements.
We offer payment options
We offer two different payment options. The first is a Fixed Pay Track, which is for people who want to pay for the course in three instalments and the second option is a Pay As You Go option, which is where people pay for each individual lesson and an initial start-up fee.
After you pass
After completing the second exam and after completing the training for the final exam, we will guarantee you the option of joining the team on one of our franchise schemes.
